Environment Monitoring

The Room Alert 26W by AVTECH is the flagship unit by AVTECH that monitors in real-time.  It comes with a built-in digital temperature, digital humidity, power, and flood detection sensors (leak detection cable optional but required).  You can connect it to other equipment that has a set of voltage-free dry contacts.

It comes with a built-in uninterruptible power supply, powered wireless sensor hub, external temperature sensor, and room entry sensor.  AVTECH offers a number of sensors to monitor the environment or other conditions.  In addition, Room Alert 26W allows for 8 digital sensors, 16 switch sensors, 15 WISH or WiSPR units and connection of an external flood sensor, and the good news is the Room Alert 26W sells for less than than $1,000 at Data Center Super Store.

The Room Alert 26W allows alert notifications to be sent a number of different ways including SNMP to any SNMP enabled software (i.e. HP openView™, Tivoli™, PageR Enterprise™ Nagios™ What's Up Gold™ Big Brother™ and many others), plus email, computers, phones, pagers and PDAs. Room Alert 26W is designed specifically to monitor digital temperature/humidity and switch sensors that can be distributed throughout a room, department or building.

  • Digital temperature sensors
    • Real-time, every two seconds information is sent for logging, alerting and automatic corrective action
  • Digital temperature and humidity sensors
    • Real-time, every two seconds information is sent for logging, alerting and automatic corrective action.  Temperature is accurate to within +/-.05 degrees and humidity is accurate to within +/- 3.5%
  • Digital Power Sensor
    • Reports in real-time every two seconds amperage, voltage, wattage values, power spikes, brownouts, loss of power, and return of power
  • Leak/Flood Detection Sensor with 8' or 24' of leak detection cable
    • Place the leak detection cable around the area that may leak.  This sensor will detect as little as one drop of water and then it sends alarm.  The sensor comes with either 8' or 24' of leak detection cable.  Additional links of cable can be added in combinations of 8' or 24' combinations up to 900'
  • Spot Leak/Flood Detection Sensor
    • Detects water in one spot (unlike the leak detection cable above that is continuous).  It uses a 9 volt battery for power source (included).
  • Smoke Sensor with Escape Light
    • Provides real-time recognition of smoke or fire and includes specially designed electronics to interface with our environment monitoring system.  Powered by one 9V Alkaline battery (included), this model has a bright 'escape' light and loud 'buzzer' that are triggered if the sensor is activated.
  • Motion Detection Sensor
    • A movement sensing device specially equipped with additional electronics to interface with our environment monitoring system. The motion sensor is powered by a 12V DC power supply and is designed to detect movement up to 35' away with a cone coverage of approximately 84 degrees wide.
  • Sound, Light, and Entry Sensor
    • Provides real-time recognition of sound, light and/or entry such as a door opening, closing, etc. With adjustable sensitivities, it is designed to be mounted on a vertical surface such as a wall or pillar in unmanned closets, telecom rooms, remote data rooms or other low traffic facilities.
  • Air Flow Sensor (five models available)
    • Provides real-time recognition of air flow stoppage. Typical use is to monitor continuous air flow in an HVAC duct, under a raised floor, or near a fan on a rack cabinet or important server.
    • One model of our air flow sensor is attached to a grill that replaces a server fan grill used to monitor an important server.
  • Door Entry Sensor
    • Provides real-time recognition of a door or cabinet being opened. Standard use is to mount the wired sensor to the frame of a door. Then, mount the matching actuator opposite of the sensor on the door itself. When the door opens, the two components separate and the sensor trips.
  • Panic Button
    • Two styles for foot activated or hand activated can be used as an emergency alarm to provide warning where someone is working and may need help or conditions reach an alarming state. When the Panic Button is pressed the alarm condition or status will continue until the Panic Button is manually reset.
  • External Light Tower
    • Offered in two models one with two light towers, the other with three light towers and sound.  This device is designed to enhance the alerting capabilities, including visual alerting when an issue or event occurs. The unit can be turned on or off via SNMP Trap or SNMP Set commands. It may be mounted in a location where the visual lights will be highly visible.  It can be activated by alarms detected by the connected sensors or by other devices remotely across the network.
  • Relay (turn devices on or off)
    •  Allows low voltage devices to be turned on/off remotely. The Relay Sensor supports up to 4 devices with visible relay status lights. Each relay supports loads up to 0.3A at 125VAC or 1A at 24VDC.  The first three (3) relay outputs on the Relay Sensor can be individually controlled and activated directly from the Room Alert Web Interface or in response to an alarm condition. The fourth relay output can be used as a general alarm output and will be activated whenever any of the first three (3) relay outputs are activated.
  • Powered Wireless Sensor Hub (P-WiSH)
    • P-WiSH is a wireless hub that is used exclusively to transmit sensor data from internal and connected sensors back to the environment monitoring hardware unit. Because the P-WiSH sensor is wireless, it can be located anywhere monitoring is desired up to almost 250' (in the ideal environment) from the main unit without running cables. The WiSH sensor communicates directly with the system via a secure, private protocol on a ZigBee based 2.4 Ghz wireless connection. Data sent and retrieved is encrypted and will not interfere with other wireless devices in the environment.
  • Wireless Sensor Hub & Powered Relay (WiSPR)
    • WiSPR is a wireless hub that is used to relay sensor data between WiSH sensors and the environment monitoring hardware unit, allowing users to extend the length of their wireless monitoring. The WiSPR sensor communicates directly with the environment system and WiSH sensors via a secure, private protocol on a ZigBee based 2.4 Ghz wireless connection. Data sent and retrieved is encrypted and will not interfere with other wireless devices in the environment.
