HEPA Vacuum Cleaners

Dust will take its toll on delicate equipment and your health. Standard vacuum cleaners catch relativly large dust particals but are not capable of stopping the very fine (equipment damaging and allergenic) particles in its bag. For those of you that use the standard types of vacuums with convential filters, you probably have noticed the musty smell or the sneezing after vacuuming.  In fact, this fine dust not only passes right out though the filter and back into the room, but becomes  airborne and sucked into the powerful intakes of your equipment!  A special High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter can stop 99.97% of the particles down to .003 microns.  How small is a micron?  A micron is one-millionth of a meter or one-thousandth of a millimeter or 1/25,400^th of an inch!

Floor Blower/Dryer

Why would a data center manager want to own one or more blowers? Unfortunately, water leaks are fairly common in data centers. A sub-floor leak detection system is a valuable early warning tool (every data center with a raised floor should have one). When your sub-floor leak detection system sounds, you have to react immediately to stop the leak; then you want to mop and dry the water off of the floor to prevent possible damage or contamination. Where does water come from under the raised floor? Any leak above the floor will find its way to the sub-floor. However, A/C humidifier units can overflow and spill directly into the sub-floor, A/C sub-floor pumps can fail, pipes can burst, and even a bucket of cleaning water can tip and spill.
